Aggies Claim No. 2 Offensive Line In Texas; Who's No. 1?
The Texas A&M Aggies hope to enter 2023 with a bang ... and a win. And it might all start at the quarterback position. It will be either Max Johnson or Conner Weigman under center against New Mexico on Sept. 2, and either way, A&M should be in good shape.
Why? Because protecting the signal-caller this season is the No. 2 ranked offensive line in the state of Texas per Dave Cambell's Texas Football.
2. TEXAS A&M AGGIES
The players: OC Bryce Foster, OG Layden Robinson, OG Kam Dewberry, OT Reuben Fatheree III
"No team in the Lone Star State outside of the Longhorns recruit the offensive line better than the Aggies. The interior of the offensive line should be stout, especially if Foster stays healthy. The Aggies were a different unit with him struggling with injuries and illness throughout 2022.
"He’ll be flanked by two potential NFL players at guard in Robinson and Dewberry. The only real question marks are on the outside, but Fatheree was solid as a freshman two years ago and Zuhn has plenty of potential. Expect a step forward from this group in 2023."
The school just ahead of A&M at No. 1? It's the once-and-future Aggies rival, Texas Longhorns. The rest of the top five include No. 3 Baylor Bears, No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs, and No. 5 Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Anchored by Aggies veteran center Bryce Foster, the line contains seasoned veterans and some new faces. All of whom hope to keep both Weigman and Johnson off the turf as much as possible. Foster is joined by Layden Robinson, Kam Dewberry, and Reuben Fatheree III.
