Deyjhon Pettaway shared why the Texas A&M Aggies are the best fit for him.

Highly touted 2025 four-star cornerback, Deyjhon Pettaway, has officially committed to the Texas A&M Aggies, as revealed on his social media platforms.

Pettaway holds the impressive rank of No. 149 overall prospect and is recognized as the 21st cornerback in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

This ranking is a comprehensive weighted average, incorporating assessments from all four major recruiting media companies. In addition to his national standing, Pettaway secures the No. 24 spot among recruits in the talent-rich state of Texas.

Pettaway had positive things to say about the new look Aggies describing his confidence in the SEC team.

“They all have a plan for what’s next for Texas A&M and I believe it’s a really good one,” Pettaway told On3's Sam Spiegelman. “They poured so much knowledge into me and told me where could A&M be at and where it’s at right now,” the four-star CB continued. “They know what needs to be done in order to proceed with those plans.”

Pettaway, whose brother is sophomore Texas A&M linebacker, Daymion Sanford, has maintained a strong connection with the program since his early playing days. Although former Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher was his primary recruiter, first-year coach Mike Elko's exceptional defensive expertise has undeniably contributed to making the program a favored destination for Pettaway since the inception of his recruitment.

Earlier in the month, Pettaway offered additional insights into his official visit to College Station.

This included a focus on the impact and attributes that Elko looks to bring to the table.

“The conversations with the new staff hold more weight and the plans they want to accomplish have a deeper meaning and different intensity about it,” Pettaway said. “They have an opportunity to flip the program around and they have the resources, the mentality, and the teachings to do so.”
