As opening day approaches for baseball, the Texas A&M Aggies are gearing up to face McNeese State next month. Aggieland is buzzing with anticipation, eager to witness what the 2024 squad has in store.

Aggies coach Jim Schlossnagle took a moment to share his perspective on team-building and the program's foundation.

"I heard someone say recently that you don't build programs anymore; you build teams," Schlossnagle said. "I don't entirely agree. I believe you still need a core set of beliefs, a foundation for how we operate."

The focal point of discussion centered around improvements in pitching and the strides observed during fall ball.

"If we maintain the level of accuracy we demonstrated in those two fall games, consistently hitting the strike zone," Schlossnagle said. "I believe our pitching will show improvement both in terms of strike-throwing ability and overall performance. Whether it reaches SEC Elite status remains to be seen."
