Aggies LOOK: Nuggets C DeAndre Jordan is Officially an NBA Champion

After 15 seasons in the NBA, DeAndre Jordan finally earned his championship. He'll be entering free agency this offseason, but now has a historic accolade to add to his resume.
In this story:

He may have spent just one season with Texas A&M, but DeAndre Jordan will always be a Texas A&M Aggie

One year in College Station paved the way for the center to enter the NBA, which turned into a 15-year career that isn't quite finished. In fact, Jordan's legacy has officially taken the next level — one that every professional player dreams of.

DeAndre Jordan will now always be an NBA champion

In his 15th season, the former Aggie center found himself in Denver alongside two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, who spearheaded the Nuggets' championship effort.

Monday night's victory for the Nuggets marked Denver's first championship in its 47-year history, and though it was largely due to Jokic and Jamal Murray — the Serbian superstar's right-hand man — Jordan played his role, appearing in just under half of the team's games on the season.

His minutes weren't there throughout the postseason, but they didn't need to be. Jokic played 82 percent of Denver's possible minutes, putting the Nuggets on his back in the process. He averaged 30.0 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists, leading all players in each category, which just another first for the former MVP.

Jordan averaged 5.1 points and 5.2 rebounds on 76.5 percent shooting from the floor, proving to be reliable when he was needed. While helping his team was a priority for the center, capping off his year with the achievement he'd been hoping for since his rookie season was even more special, especially doing so alongside some of his other veteran teammates that have been deemed "old heads" by some of the league's younger talent.

Old or not, Jordan earned his title. It took 15 years and seven teams, but it happened, and his legacy will now forever be written in the Denver history books, as an NBA champion.

He isn't finished yet, however. Jordan will now enter unrestricted free agency, where he will either re-sign with the Nuggets or move to join another contending team that he can help get over the hump. But wherever he goes next, one thing is certain: Jordan is a lot of things.

He's an NBA center — a bona fide veteran — with playoff experience and now a title under his belt. And he's an Aggie, too.
