Aggies Golfer Evan Myers Transfers to Nebraska

Myers, a native of Northbrook, Illinois, competed in three events for the Aggies this past season, compiling a 73.13 stroke average in eight rounds of golf.

Texas A&M Aggies junior golfer Evan Myers has transferred to the Nebraska Cornhuskers per Nebraska head golf coach Judd Cornell on Tuesday.

Myers, a native of Northbrook, Illinois, competed in three events for the Aggies this past season, compiling a 73.13 stroke average in eight rounds of golf.

"Evan comes from one of the best programs in the country," Cornell said. "He had the opportunity to return for his fifth year but wanted to play a bigger role and get ready to play professionally. I think Nebraska will be an outstanding opportunity for him to pursue his goals in the classroom and with golf. He will fit right in with our team because he is a hard worker and is very talented."

Maybe more impressive, Myers is a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

The Aggies recently finished 13th at the NCAA Championships, carding a 7-over 287 in the final round, and finishing the four days at Grayhawk Golf Club at 24-over 1,144.

The Aggies missed the cut for the eight-team match play bracket by 12 strokes.

Myers is joined by fellow transfer Hamish Murray from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma.

"We have a lot of high achievers on the team," Cornell said. "I believe these two will be great additions."
