Colton Denton caught up with Volunteer Country to talk about his Tennessee Volunteers commitment and what made him want to play for the baseball program
In this story:

It may be a while before baseball starts, but the Tennessee Volunteers are still on the recruiting trail. Recently, the Vols landed an in-state prospect. Colton Denton is a class of 2025 prospect who is from Knoxville, Tennessee. Denton plays multiple positions, but the one that stands out the most is catcher. The young talent measures around 6'2 and 210 pounds. Denton took the time to speak with Volunteer Country following his commitment.

The hometown kid made it known that he always wanted to play for Tennessee. He states, “I was born and raised in Knoxville, and it has always been a dream to play for the Vols and wear orange and white.” The 2025 catcher also goes on to say, “I had about ten offers, and I just could not get Tennessee out of my mind, and God just put it on my heart that it was the best place for me, and I would thrive best there.”

Being an in-state kid, he is very familiar with the Tennessee program and atmosphere. He talks about what intrigues him the most about Tennessee and follows up with “the atmosphere at any sport, and everyone gets along well as one big family.” He then responds by saying, “All the coaches get along very well, and they have created a great program. They are continuing to build the program even more. I love the attitude they bring to practices and games.”

Denton is looking forward to his future with the Vols. He was asked what he looks forward to the most when it comes to Tennessee, and he replied, “Doing what I love and living out my dream of playing college baseball.” Although Denton has some time left in high school, he is extremely excited to play at the next level and live out his dream of playing college baseball.
