Former Tennessee Volunteers baseball outfielder, star player, and current #81 prospect overall on MLB Pipeline Jordan Beck had a great first impression in his spring training opener.

The Rockies drafted Beck with the 38th pick in the 2022 draft showcase. Beck was expected to make a huge impact on the Rockies farm system, and he did just that. In his first season as a MILB prospect, Beck totaled a stat line that consisted of 487 at-bats, an average of .271, 25 home runs, 91 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases.

In his career at Tennessee, Beck was the prime three-hole hitter for the majority of his time in the lineup. He was a part of Tennessee's huge run alongside star players Drew Gilbert, Trey Lipscomb, and Chase Dollander. Beck had a career stat line of .283 average, 149 games played, 34 home runs, 156 hits, 122 runs, 134 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases.

In his spring training opener, the former Volunteer ball player doubled down the left field line to drive in a run for the Rockies to push their lead up to 3-0 against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Beck was batting at the top of the lineup, which was a bit uncharacteristic, but it seemed to work as the Rockies prospect did exactly as he used to in his college days.

The Rockies have multiple former Volunteers towards the top of their top prospect list, including Jordan Beck and top 10 pick Chase Dollander. Both prospects could find huge roles for the Rockies in the near future.
