Tennessee Snags No. 2 Seed In NCAA Tournament
After a one-and-done week in Hoover at the SEC Tournament, the Vols are right where everyone expected them to be. The Vols got the two seed in the Clemson regional and will likely have to get through the ACC Champs and number 4 overall seed to get to a super regional. The Vols did not get into the Terre Haute regional, where they were projected on Sunday night.
Joining Tennessee and Clemson in the regional is two other conference champions in Charlotte out of Conference USA and Lipscomb out of the Atlantic Sun. The four teams will compete in a double-elimination tournament that will begin Friday. Tennessee-Charlotte will be the regional's second game on Friday and will start at 6:00 P.M. Eastern on ESPNU, barring a delay. If the Vols were to win the regional and advance, Auburn would be the projected super regional the Vols would play into. Tennessee did not get to play the SEC West foe this season, but you would imagine there's still some familiarity between the two. For now, the task at hand is Charlotte and staying out of the elimination bracket in Clemson on Friday night.
