A Look at Tennessee's Challenging Road Ahead

Following the upcoming bye week, the Tennessee Volunteers have a tough patch of games that will prove just what this team is made of.
In this story:

The Tennessee Volunteers got a massive win against the South Carolina Gamecocks, winning 41-20 on Saturday night. It was the Vols' first SEC win of the season, and it came at a proper time as they were about to enter the heart of conference play.

Next on the Vols' schedule, following the bye week is a game against Texas A&M, who is coming off an impressive 34-22 win against Arkansas. After that, they go on the road for two games against the Alabama Crimson Tide for the Third Saturday in October and then to Kroger Field to play the Kentucky Wildcats. Both of those teams are a combined 9-1 this season. However, the Vols were also victorious against both teams last season.

These are some big-time matchups that Tennessee will have this upcoming month, and it will test just how much they can handle a tough road ahead. Tennessee has shown prowess within games inside of Neyland Stadium. But, the road game in Florida showed what could happen if a tough environment is present. For example, Bryant-Denny Stadium has been rough on Tennessee as they last won at Tuscaloosa in 2003. they also have just four wins all-time in the town of Tuscaloosa.

Kentucky's current undefeated resume makes for an intriguing matchup, as they are coming off a dominant 33-14 win over the Florida Gators. The Cats also won on the road the week prior in Nashville against Vanderbilt, beating them by two touchdowns. The Wildcats have beaten each team they played by at least 10 points. The teams all coming up will give Tennessee a tough challenge as the season begins to heat up. The SEC is starting to take shape into the typical tough conference that it always seems to play out to be.
