Tennessee LBs Coach Brian Jean-Mary Targeted For Power-5 Job

Tennessee Volunteers linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary has been targeted for a job with the Michigan Wolverines.
In this story:

Tennessee lost its running backs coach, Jerry Mack, to the professional ranks earlier this week. Mack accepted the same role with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a big loss for the Vols' coaching staff after he did excellent work with his group. Now, Michigan is targeting linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary for the same role, and there could be interest.

Football Scoop reported that the Wolverines had engaged Jean-Mary in discussions about a potential reunion in Ann Arbor. Nothing is final or official, but Tennessee could be in danger of losing another one of its top assistants.

"Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Vols linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary has emerged as a top target for the linebackers job at Michigan. Sound familiar? Jean-Mary was hired away from Michigan by Heupel & Co. two years ago. But the Wolverines are retooling their staff on both sides of the ball after losing former head coach Jim Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter to the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers. Moore since has hired Don "Wink" Martindale, an long-tenured, esteemed NFL defensive coordinator, to run the Michigan defense, and sources told FootballScoop Tuesday that Moore and Martindale have engaged Jean-Mary in discussions to return to Ann Arbor, Michigan." - Football Scoop on Brian Jean-Mary
