How To Watch: Tennessee vs. Virginia

The Tennessee Volunteers are preparing to kick off the college football season against Virginia this weekend. Here are the full viewing details that fans need for the action.

College football is almost here. The week zero games set the tone for fans, and we have a few games between now and Saturday to continue easing us into the action. However, once Saturday at noon rolls around, we are officially back in the swing of things until 2024.

The Tennessee Volunteers have their sights aimed high after an 11-win season in 2022. They had to reload on offense, replacing four NFL Draft picks on that side of the football this offseason alone. Head coach Josh Heupel expects several early contributors from his first two recruiting cycles as Tennessee's head coach. That talent influx should offset some of the departures, which gives the Vols reason to expect big things. They open their season against the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday, the first challenge in a lengthy list of tests.

In 2022, Virginia finished 3-7 with one conference win in ACC play. There was some public speculation that Tennessee thoroughly entertained the idea of hiring Virginia head coach Tony Elliott before they hired Heupel, though Tennessee athletic director Danny White quickly dispelled that notion. Still, some bad blood on both sides should make the game interesting. Tennessee wants to make a statement behind new starting quarterback Joe Milton III, while Elliot may be fighting for his job this year with the Cavaliers.
