Former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Josh Dobbs has had an interesting road in the NFL. He's never been viewed as a long-term starter but is one of the most intelligent, respected players around the league. Teammates always praise his work ethic and attention to detail, and those traits have shown during spot starts.

Dobbs now has an opportunity to become more than a spot-starter this year. Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback Kyler Murray suffered a serious injury at the end of last year that will keep him sidelined months into 2023. The Cardinals didn't have a starter in place until Wednesday, when they named Dobbs their 2023 starter. He won the job over Houston rookie Clayton Tune, a fifth-rounder that impressed during training camp.

Many national analysts project Arizona as the league's worst squad in 2023. If Dobbs can change the narrative in the building and stack wins together, he should get more starting chances for other organizations. He's finally getting his starting shot in the NFL, and if it looks anything like his days at Tennessee, we should be in for a really fun season.
