Tennessee and South Carolina square off tonight in an evening SEC affair. It's one of the most hyped games of the week after the 2022 meeting between the two sides, and Volunteer Country will keep fans updated with all the latest news from the action.

First Quarter

  • (0-0), 12:30 - South Carolina elected to take the opening kickoff and picked up a first down but quickly had to punt away. The Vols start their offensive day on the 8-yard line.
  • (7-0), 9:26 - Tennessee gets moving quickly, getting across midfield before running back Jaylen Wright finds a hole and scampers in for a 42-yard touchdown.
  • (7-3), 5:47 - South Carolina kicker Mitch Jeter hits a 36-yard field goal to give the Gamecocks their first points of the day.
  • (7-3), 4:55 - Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III tries to fit the ball into a window on 3rd & 10 but is intercepted by South Carolina corner DQ Smith, who returns it to the Tennessee 29-yard line.
  • (7-10), 2:03 - On 3rd & goal, South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler dives across two defenders for a 6-yard rushing touchdown. 
  • (14-10), 0:42 - After a 51-yard throw from Milton to wide receiver Squirrel White, running back Jabari Small stretches across the goal line for a 2-yard touchdown.
  • END OF 1Q: TENNESSEE, 14-10

Second Quarter

  • (14-10), 13:30 - Punter Kai Kroeger fakes a punt and finds wide receiver Xavier Legette all alone for an easy first down. The Gamecocks are set up at Tennessee's 40-yard line.
  • (14-10), 11:02 - Safety Wesley Walker stops Legette on a 4th & 2 to give Tennessee the football up four points.
  • (17-10), 8:50 - Tennessee kicker Charles Campbell nails a 24-yard field goal to put Tennessee up by a touchdown.
  • (17-10), 6:29 - Tennessee gets a stop and will start with the football on their own 29-yard line.
  • (17-10), 5:11 - After a gruesome injury to wide receiver Bru McCoy, who was carted off the field, Tennessee stalls out and punts back to South Carolina.
  • (17-10), 3:13 - South Carolina stalls out near their own end zone and punts back to Tennessee.
  • (17-10), 2:23 - Milton can't find his man on third down, and the Gamecocks got the ball right back.
  • (24-10), 0:47 - Corner Kamal Hadden intercepts Rattler and runs it back to the end zone for a Tennessee touchdown.
  • END OF 2Q: TENNESSEE, 24-10

Third Quarter

  • (31-10), 10:41 - Milton finds tight end Jacob Warren on 3rd & goal for a 6-yard touchdown pass, Milton's first of the evening.
  • (31-17), 10:28 - South Carolina running back Mario Anderson finds a crease for a 75-yard touchdown to put the Gamecocks back in the game.
  • (31-17), 8:12 - The Vols stall out after a dropped pass on third down. South Carolina takes over.
  • (31-17), 6:01 - South Carolina goes for it on 4th & inches but Tennessee blows up the quarterback sneak and takes over on their own 35-yard line.
  • (31-17), 2:48 - South Carolina freshman defensive back Jalon Kilgore makes a good play on the football for a red zone interception. South Carolina gets it on their own 2-yard line. 
  • (31-17), 1:45 - Tennessee forces a stop near South Carolina's goal line and gets the ball back. A block-in-the-back calls a punt return touchdown back for the Vols, but they get it on the South Carolina 38-yard line.
  • END OF 3Q: TENNESSEE, 31-17

Fourth Quarter

  • (34-17), 12:42 - Tennessee drives down and extends their lead to three scores courtesy of a Campbell field goal.
  • (34-20), 8:32 - Jeter hits a 48-yard field goal to keep South Carolina in the game.

Tennessee Football Injury Report: South Carolina

  • Joe Milton III - IN. Heupel said Milton's earlier medical center visit this week was a precautionary visit in line with their daily health requirements. "I anticipate him being ready to go play really well," Heupel said.
  • Jaylen Wright - IN. Wright left the UTSA game in the first half and didn't return. On3 reported on Saturday morning that he will play against South Carolina.
  • Ramel Keyton - IN. Keyton left the UTSA game and didn't return. On3 reported on Saturday morning that he will play against South Carolina.
  • Bru McCoy - IN. McCoy left the UTSA game and didn't return. He will be active tonight.
  • Cooper Mays - IN. Mays still hasn't made his season debut after undergoing surgery six weeks ago. According to On3, Mays will make his first start of the year against South Carolina this evening.
  • Keenan Pili - OUT. Pili got hurt in the opener against Virginia and hasn't returned to the field since. Linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary has said he's still engaged and present, but this injury may hold him out even longer.
  • Dont'e Thornton - OUT. Thornton is a late add to the inactive list before kickoff.
  • Christian Charles - OUT. Charles is a late add to the inactive list before kickoff.
  • Andrej Karic - OUT. Karic is a late add to the inactive list before kickoff.
