ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranked the top quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL Draft, including Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Joe Milton III.

Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton III is currently amid the NFL Draft process. He performed well during practices at the Reese's Senior Bowl and received an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana, in March. He's viewed as a potential day-three draft pick with physical upside.

Milton would be the second quarterback selected in the NFL Draft under head coach Josh Heupel's tutelage at the University of Tennessee. The Detroit Lions selected quarterback Hendon Hooker with the No. 68 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. ranked the top signal callers ahead of the NFL Draft in April.

Mel Kiper Jr.'s Top NFL QBs

  1. Caleb Williams, USC
  2. Jayden Daniels, LSU
  3. Drake Maye, North Carolina
  4. JJ McCarthy, Michigan
  5. Michael Penix Jr., Washington
  6. Bo Nix, Oregon
  7. Spencer Rattler, South Carolina
  8. Michael Pratt, Tulane
  9. Jordan Travis, Florida State
  10. Joe Milton III, Tennessee

ESPN offered in-depth opinions on several quarterbacks after the Reese's Senior Bowl, sharing conversations with various NFL executives attending the event. The book on Milton at the professional level reads identical to what people said about him in college.

"He makes all the throws with the same velocity, and some easy completions get away from him,” said one AFC South scout who saw Milton play several times at Tennessee. Evaluators polled said Milton’s physical stature and his arm strength, however, would be enough for a team to draft him on Day 3. Milton completed 64.7% of his passes with 20 touchdowns and five picks in his final season." - ESPN on Joe Milton III
