Tennessee Falls Far in Latest AP Poll

The Tennessee Volunteers suffered a sizable drop in the AP Poll after losing to the Florida Gators on Saturday night.

The Associated Press released their post-week three poll, and the Tennessee Volunteers suffered an expected fall. Florida bested them on Saturday, getting out-executed on national television for four quarters. The Vols have deficiencies in the secondary, and the passing attack has been far from what it was in 2022.

This week, Tennessee comes in as the No. 23 team in America. They still rank ahead of several other teams with impressive seasons, but it's a different air than their previous No. 11 ranking. Florida checks in at No. 25 after getting the first Power-5 victory on Saturday, a quality win for head coach Billy Napier and company. Tennessee has two ranked opponents left on the schedule, Alabama and Georgia.

Nationally, the Pac-12 represents a good portion of these rankings. Though the conference is soon disbanding, they have elite quarterback play and carry 3-4 squads that can score with anyone in the country. Colorado is still the story of college football after beating Colorado State in a double-overtime thriller, falling one spot to No. 19.
