SEC Tournament Schedule Released
Can the Tennessee Volunteers make another splash in the SEC tournament for the second time in three years?
Tennessee basketball just concluded its regular season, which means it will now advance to the SEC tournament. They lost to the Kentucky Wildcats, but that was not enough to bump them out of the No. 1 conference seed in tournament play. The following teams are on Tennessee’s side of the bracket: Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Mississippi State, LSU, South Carolina, and Auburn. The full tournament is below.
- Day 1: (March 13th)
- Game 1: Vanderbilt vs Arkansas
- Game 2: Missouri vs Georgia
- Day 2: (March 14th)
- Game 3: Mississippi State vs LSU
- Game 4: Game 1 Winner vs South Carolina
- Game 5: Ole Miss vs Texas A&M
- Game 6: Game 2 Winner vs Florida
- Day 3: (March 15th)
- Game 7: Game 3 Winner vs Tennessee
- Game 8: Game 4 Winner vs Auburn
- Game 9: Game 5 Winner vs Kentucky
- Game 10: Game 6 Winner vs Alabama
- Day 4: (March 16th)
- Game 11: Game 7 Winner vs Game 8 Winner
- Game 12: Game 9 Winner vs Game 10 Winner
- Day 5: (March 17th) Championship
- Game 13: Game 11 Winner vs Game 12 Winner
Although they are the No. 1 seed for conference play, it’s also worth mentioning that some believe they are out of the No. 1 national seed in the March Madness race after losing to Kentucky in their final game of the regular season. If they bounce back and win the conference tournament, it will be hard not to reward the Volunteers with one of the No. 1 seeds, considering they have had one of the harder schedules even in non-conference play. They finished the regular season with a record of 24-7 overall despite dropping three consecutive games against Purdue, Kansas, and North Carolina. They produced the most impressive conference record out of the SEC group, with an in-conference record of 14-4.
