Two Vols Get NBA Camp Invites
The NBA G League will hold its elite camp on May 13th and 14th. It will take place at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois, and feature 45 of some of the best draft-eligible players this upcoming year. The tournament itself consists of drills and 5-on-5 scrimmages, with some NBA hopefuls with the draft coming up this summer.
Some notable alumni from the camp include NBA players Max Strus, Kenneth Lofton Jr., and Jose Alvarado. This year, the tournament features some of college basketball's premier players, like UCLA's Tiger Campbell and Florida Atlantic's Johnell Davis.
The list also has two Tennessee players from last season: Olivier Nkamhoua and Josiah-Jordan James. Nkamhoua is also awaiting possibly transferring to another school to fulfill his last year of eligibility in college. He announced his transfer back on March 30th.
The camp will give these two former Volunteers a chance to show out in front of a ton of NBA scouts, executives, coaches, etc. The two players may look to make it the third straight season with a former Vol selected. The two previous years saw Kennedy Chandler, Keon Johnson, and Jaden Springer end up in the league. The NBA Draft itself will be held on June 22nd in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
