WATCH: Zakai Zeigler Takes Flight
Zakai Zeigler has been known for many things during his college career. He is one of the most physical defenders in the nation at the guard spot and has elite playmaking that also helps him drive to the paint to get easy buckets and and-1 opportunities. Zakai Zeigler is even one of the best shooters in the NCAA, as he can drain it from far distance. However, one of the things Zeigler is not known for is dunking. We have not seen the junior guard dunk in a game, despite him doing a dunk in pre-game warmups.
Zeigler stands 5-9 and 171 pounds. He surfaced as a fan favorite after multiple dominant performances during his freshman season, as he and Kennedy Chandler were the faces of the team. Following his freshman season, Zeigler was on a mission, producing an even better year as a starter for the Vols before tearing his ACL late in the season. He returned from injury in the first game of his junior season and has been an excellent player and leader for the Volunteers. Although he is very talented, he may have a secret talent he has kept this whole time.
There has been a video surfaced from @omft_tv on Instagram that shows Zeigler doing a spectacular between-the-legs dunk. Zeigler has been a part of the Tennessee dunking tradition in pregame; however, he has never participated in the dunking scene during a live game. It definitely sparks conversation about whether Tennessee fans will ever see fan-favorite Zeigler dunk the ball during the game.
