On December 16th, the Tennessee Volunteers basketball team will face off against the N.C. State Wolfpack in the AT&T Center for a neutral site game in San Antonio, Texas. It will be the 12th time the Vols have taken on N.C. State all-time. They have a 4-7 record against the Wolfpack. Despite beating them once in Knoxville and Raleigh, the Vols defeated N.C. State in their most recent matchup on a neutral site.

It was a win in the Bahamas in the Battle for Atlantis. The win allowed Tennessee to finish 3rd overall in the invitational. It is the second time this season the Vols will be on a neutral site as they also will play in the Maui Invitational before playing the Wolfpack. 2022 was a pretty good year for NC State. They finished 23-11 overall and 12-8 in ACC play. In the postseason, they were able to win one ACC tournament game against the Virginia Tech Hokies. However, their season ended in the tournament's first round against the Creighton Bluejays. There are a few players the Vols will have to watch out for on the Wolfpack. Senior big man D.J. Burns came off of a year averaging 12.5 points and five rebounds per game. He was a highly efficient shooter, going 56% from the field while averaging 23 minutes of playing time per contest.

Jack Clark is a tall guard for N.C. State. At 6 feet and 8 inches tall, he is a great rebounder for N.C. State out of the backcourt. He was the leader in rebounds per game for the Wolfpack. Those two pack a great one-two punch for N.C. State that will make them competitive again this season. There is not yet a tip-off time for the matchup between them and Tennessee in San Antonio come December.
