BREAKING: Boo Carter Announces Decision
On Saturday, Boo Carter announced his commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers. He is a three-star recruit in the class of 2024 and his labeled position is an athlete. Although, at his high school, Bradley Central, he plays a lot of running back. He also is listed as able to play wide receiver, free safety, and cornerback. He hails from just down south of Knoxville in Cleveland, Tennessee.
At 5 feet and 11 inches tall and 180 pounds, Carter has a great build for all the positions he can play. What stands out about his "wide variety" game is his ability to run the ball effortlessly. He has great speed as he runs a 4.39 according to Hudl.
He can move on a dime to break away from opposing defenders and if he gets space, he is a hard player to catch up to with his elite speed. He also is an underrated prospect when it comes to breaking tackles as he can use his size to get low to the ground to break away from defenders.
He speeds also comes in hand when he plays defense as he is a very good open field tackler when placed in the secondary. He can close in on opposing offensive players to make tackles and can catch up to throws down the field to make good plays in coverage.
When it comes to playing in the receiver spot, Bradley Central usually lines Carter up in the slot spot. Although he may be considered undersized, his route running ability is something to watch out for as he moves on through his senior season and into the next level.
Carter is ranked was the 8th best player in the state of Tennessee.
