4-star EDGE Bryce Davis Cuts Recruitment, Tennessee Becoming Early Contender
We're in "information season" for the class of 2024. Multiple top prospects are making college announcements; in Tennessee's case, most are along the defensive line. Defensive line coach Rodney Garner plays an integral role in that - he's been coaching elite football for years and knows how to recruit elite players. Though we are in the heat of battle for rising seniors, there are a few notables in the 2025 cycle that he's after.
North Carolina edge rusher Bryce Davis is one of those names. The Grimsley High School standout totaled 85 tackles, 24 TFLs, and 12 sacks during his sophomore season, earning third-team all-state honors. He's a productive defender from a proven program with a 6-3, 245-pound frame. Many top programs are pursuing, including Tennessee. Davis recently cut his recruitment to 12 schools: Alabama, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and USC. He's taken trips to every school on his list except Alabama, Clemson, Miami, Michigan, and USC.
The consensus No. 49 prospect in the 2025 cycle visited Knoxville, Tennessee, on April 15th, 2023. The vibes were strong from the visit, and Tennessee is a factor in this one early. There's still plenty of time before things start ramping up, but the Vols have one year until the 2025 class stands where the 2024s do now: ready to make decisions and move on to the next chapter.
