Tennessee is coming off a successful weekend, as they beat the Aggies on Saturday for the first time since 2005. They also successfully brought in recruits for visits, including plenty of underclassmen. Volunteer Country had the opportunity to speak with Caden Harris following his visit this past weekend.

Caden Harris is a 6'0, 155-pound ‘2026 cornerback from Brownsville, Tennessee, who plays school ball for Haywood. He currently holds interest from quality schools such as Tennessee, Colorado, Mississippi State, and more.

The in-state prospect always wanted to visit Tennessee. "Man, it felt great. Tennessee is a big school. I always wanted to go there and see a game, so it felt good to be able to visit." He also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the game on Saturday against the Aggies. "The atmosphere was crazy; it was like none other; the game was great; it was something that everybody should experience."

Tennessee also had the famous Checker Neyland movement last Saturday, which is publicly known to get fans pumped up for a big-time game or atmosphere. He also spoke very highly of the Vols defensive backs coach Willie Martinez. Harris states, "I like Coach Martinez because he keeps it very real with his players, and he coaches with a style that I like. I had a conversation with him; we talked about a lot of good things, and he made it clear to me just to keep grinding and just keep working. Keep doing what I'm doing, and this is a great program to come to."

Tennessee has been having a highly improved defensive season this year, and a lot of credit goes to the defensive backs. The way the secondary played caught the eyes of Harris, as he stated, "I liked that when plays were made on the corners, the coaches kept their trust in them, and the players didn't get down on themselves, and when the time came again, they made a play or made an adjustment." The Tennessee DB group walked away with two interceptions on Saturday, one coming from Gabe Jeudy-Lally and the other from Kamal Hadden, ultimately closing the game out.

Harris, being an underclassman, expressed how big of a deal it was for Tennessee to jump in on his recruitment early. "It shows that they are interested in me playing for them. I like that they are trying to build a relationship with me early." Following his visit, he spoke highly of Tennessee, saying, "I liked a lot about Tennessee. I love how the guys came together as a brotherhood and how they faced adversity, overcame it, and got the win." Overall, this visit seems to be a big step in the right direction for Tennessee.
