Five-Star EDGE Elijah Rushing Commits To Arizona

In this story:
The past 24 hours have been hectic for five-star edge rusher Elijah Rushing (Tucson, Ariz.). The Oregon Ducks were the primary contender for Rushing, but things shifted at the eleventh hour. The in-state Arizona Wildcats surged on Wednesday afternoon, which ultimately proved too much.
Rushing committed to the Wildcats on the 247Sports Recruiting Show on Thursday. He joins his brother, Cruz Rushing, in red, white, and blue, staying on the west coast, which was a primary factor in his decision. The Tennessee Volunteers have initially lost out in this battle, but the past day has shown us that things can change quite quickly, and the Vols aren't done taking swings.
The coaching staff showed the Rushing family a great time on his official visit. It was his second time in Knoxville in as many years. Rushing stands 6-6 and 225 pounds with elite bend and athleticism. Defensive line coach Rodney Garner has a proven track record of sending defensive linemen into the NFL, and Rushing has pro-level talent. Until his name is on a letter of intent, the Vols will fight. They proved that they were more of a factor in his decision than many thought, and they are still gaining ground.
