Gage Ginther Announces College Decision
We got a bit of surprising news on Saturday, as Tennessee added yet another commitment in the 2024 class. They landed two prospects on Friday, 2025 corner Shamar Arnoux and 2024 offensive tackle Jesse Perry. The Vols have now added the commitment of 2024 interior offensive lineman Gage Ginther.
Ginther is the No. 1 player in Colorado and plays for Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colorado. He recently visited Tennessee and shared with 247Sports that he knew he found the right program for him after the visit. He joins Perry as the first two offensive linemen in the class for quarterback commit Jake Merklinger.
He stands 6-5.5 and 287 pounds, with some weight to gain before seeing college snaps. Nebraska and newly minted head coach Matt Rhule made a run at Ginther, but Tennessee had the overwhelming lead for a long time.
This is the second under-the-radar offensive lineman that the Vols have snagged in as many days. They are beginning to put together a legitimate 2024 offensive core, one that could be highlighted with other uncommitted playmakers that the coaching staff is still working on.
The top offensive prospects remaining for Tennessee seem to be wide receiver Mike Matthews, wide receiver Ryan Wingo, and tight end Jaden Reddell. The summer will be crucial in all of their recruitments, which is why building a core now is so vital.
