Most Tennessee fans should be familiar with 2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre. He stars for Brentwood Academy (Nashville, Tenn.), where he doubles as a Power-5 basketball prospect. The Vols have been steadfast in pursuing MacIntyre from the beginning - they offered him in August and were the seventh program to extend one. He's scheduled to throw in Knoxville on Sunday evening for the coaching staff, making it his fifth on-campus visit since they offered.

As we've previously reported, Tennessee feels comfortable with two 2025 quarterbacks. Four-star Deuce Knight of George County High School (Lucedale, Miss.) has caught their attention in recent months. Head coach Josh Heupel, offensive coordinator Joey Halzle, and quarterbacks analyst Mitch Militello have spearheaded both recruitments, as Knight has been on campus four times since Tennessee offered him last June. Tennessee knows they likely can only take one in the 2025 class and are using the summer to gather as much data and information as possible.

MacIntyre has made that process easier on them this month. He threw for the coaches on June 11 and will do it again on Sunday. Tennessee isn't the only school that will get him on campus twice this summer. Alabama has shown a lot of interest in MacIntyre, and he threw for them on June 19-20 and then again on June 29. He also attended camps at Clemson, LSU, and Florida International and will eventually throw for UCLA.

By now, Tennessee's staff knows the raw talent MacIntyre has. He's 6-5.5 with basketball athleticism and natural arm talent. He alters ball placement and puts tremendous touch on the football. MacIntyre has an innate ability to throw receivers open even when they don't have separation, the calling card of a true marksman. However, the coaches knew everything from the first time they saw him throw.

Getting MacIntyre in meeting rooms and seeing how he interacts with others is important for any coaching staff evaluating quarterbacks. You must be able to relate to everyone in the ability and be comfortable being the face of a program - that's a lot of pressure on a kid and a lot of investment from a coach's perspective. The coaches are beginning to feel like they know MacIntyre on a personal level, which is uber-important for the decision they must make in a short time.
