Four-Star LB Jordan Burns Commits To Tennessee
Jordan Burns is a four-star out of the Pace Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. The linebacker in the class of 2024 stands 6-1.5 and weighs 215 pounds. According to On3, he chose the University of Tennessee over Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and others. Burns had 25 total offers, including ones from the schools mentioned above, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and Kentucky from the SEC, as well as future member Oklahoma. Interestingly, he had no offer from Georgia but did have one from Georgia Tech. Burns visited Knoxville this past weekend, which must have sealed the deal for him. Arkansas and Vanderbilt were his last two visits before that.
On the field, Burns hits with a purpose, especially the quarterback. He saw time at a few different linebacker spots, including as a prototypical pass-rushing outside linebacker. Whether it be in the backfield or a scrambling quarterback if he was playing coverage, he made quarterbacks question their decisions. He isn’t just a thumper, though. He can read the game well and come away with an interception playing as more of a coverage backer. In the run game, he gets into the backfield quickly and tackles with force. He has the speed to get sideline to sideline, tracking down the play. Although he is a four-star in some places, I am honestly surprised that any have him as a three-star, given what I’ve seen. Vol fans should be very excited about Jordan Burns coming to Knoxville.
