Vestavia Hills High School edge rusher Jordan Ross has had a hectic past few months. After signing his national letter of intent with the Tennessee Volunteers, Ross was a top performer at the Under Armour All-American Game and the Polynesian Bowl. He's now starring on the basketball court before enrolling in school this summer.

Tennessee identified Ross early on and knew they wanted him. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Texas were the primary competition for him, but the Vols were always the most serious about recruiting him. Their efforts paid off, and Ross is now earning national recognition for the ceiling that Tennessee's coaching staff identified long ago.

Ross checks in as the No. 23 prospect in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings. 247Sports has always been high on Ross - their personal rankings have him as the No. 9 prospect in the class and the No. 1 edge rusher. Other recruiting sites had Ross as a fringe five-star, but none billed him as an elite talent other than 247Sports. However, On3 joined the fray on Monday afternoon. On3 released their final 2024 rankings for their site on Monday, and Ross was the No. 7 overall prospect and the No. 1 edge rusher.
