Josh Heupel Visits George MacIntyre Ahead of Season Opener
The Tennessee Volunteers charge toward their 2023 season opener, with many players now checked in to Nashville, Tennessee hotels. However, the head man has other business to attend to on the eve of the season kickoff - Josh Heupel has made the trip out to Brentwood Academy to check in on prized 2025 passer George MacIntyre, the top quarterback in the state.
The Vols have laid on a full-court press to make MacIntyre their guy in 2025. They also are holding a spot for four-star quarterback Deuce Knight, but MacIntyre has captivated the attention of fans early. On3 national recruiting insider Chad Simmons reported earlier this high school season that MacIntyre is eyeing another trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, for a gameday experience this year. They are among his top suitors, with Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and UCLA in the mix.
Brentwood has had an uneven start to its regular season. They sit at 0-2, squaring off against Christian Brothers tonight. MacIntyre has made several flash throws throughout the season that have reminded of his abilities and why major programs are in contact. Tennessee continues to feel comfortable about where it sits in his recruitment, but the next few months are critical for his timeline. He's talked about wanting to decide before his senior season, especially because he could recruit other top prospects in the class to whichever program he commits to.
