Max Anderson is a four-star offensive tackle out of Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas, in the class of 2024. On Thursday, he cut his 22 offers down to a top eight via a Twitter post. He included Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, Arkansas, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Oregon. It is interesting to note that no team from his home state was included.

His brother, Nate Anderson, plays at one of the schools that offered him, Oklahoma. Nate will be a redshirt junior in the upcoming season, and he made four appearances last year. Oklahoma could be the favorite to land Max because of the family connection. It should be of note, though, that his most recent visit was to Tennessee in June.

Anderson stands 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs an even 300 pounds. He has experience at guard and tackle at the high school level. The tape shows the high athletic ability that translates into getting down the field quickly and effectively on longer runs and pulling to open up gaps.

He finishes blocks and finishes them hard. He plays mean, which is great to see from a big offensive lineman. I would like to see more of what he can do in pass protection, but his job in the run game makes for highlight after highlight. It’s amazing that he still has a year to improve. Volunteer Country will monitor his recruiting process as it further develops.
