Max LeBlanc Commits To Ohio State
Tight end will continue to be a conversation as long as head coach Josh Heupel resides in Knoxville. The best offenses in college football maximize the position; Georgia won the past two national titles, in large part because of tight ends Brock Bowers and Darnell Washington.
Tennessee has increased their focus in recruiting, evidenced by signing 2023 tight end Ethan Davis. They also have 2024 tight end Jonathan Echols in the fold, but are searching for another tight end to pair alongside him. In-state tight end Max LeBlanc was a candidate for this role; he narrowed down his recruitment to Ohio State, Tennessee, Michigan, and North Carolina.
LeBlanc announced his college decision on Saturday, picking the Buckeyes over his other three suitors. He told On3 that Ohio State was his "dream school" and that he has envisioned himself playing in Columbus since he began playing football. LeBlanc plays for The Baylor School, one of the premier high school teams in the state.
He logged 39 catches for 695 yards and three touchdowns in his junior season. LeBlanc is 6-4 and 225 lbs. with a strong catch radius and athleticism, and in many ways, is the prototype tight end. LeBlanc's senior season will be crucial for his development; his needs some refinement on the line of scrimmage before seeing college snaps. However, he's one of the top tight ends for a reason, and Ohio State picked up a good one.
