Shamar Arnoux Trending Tennessee Ahead of Commitment
Secondary help is the No. 1 need for the Vols in recruiting. They are chasing after some five-star prospects and adding prospects at other areas of need, but at the end of the day, their defensive backfield was bad last season. They added two DBs in the 2024 class, corner Kaleb Beasley and safety Marcus Goree, but are turning their attention to the 2025 cycle.
Four-star corner Shamar Arnoux will make his college decision on Friday. Arnoux will decide between Tennessee, LSU, Michigan, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Florida State. While there are several other high-major programs on his list, the Vols are sitting comfortably. The Georgia native has visited Tennessee more than any other school and loves what the coaching staff is doing.
Arnoux stands 6-1 and 175 pounds, a prototype SEC size. He fits the mold of what corners look like at Tennessee; tall, long, and athletic. Arnoux is very physical at the point of contact, delivering several crushing blows throughout his sophomore tape.
While he plays for Milton High School right now, he began his career at Westlake High School. Westlake ran a lot of two-deep concepts, giving Arnoux proficiency in that look. They ran palms, rotated the strong-side safety into the box to run Cover-1, and ran some two-man under.
He will need to add weight over the next two years in high school and should be up to around 185 pounds by the time he gets on a college campus. Arnoux needs more pass coverage reps but flashes sound technique when tested. There's a lot of noise around Tennessee and Arnoux, and it seems they are heavy favorites to land his pledge and begin their 2025 class.
