Tennessee Offers In-State 2026 QB Jared Curtis After Camp Showing

2026 quarterback Jared Curtis received an offer from the Tennessee Volunteers after an impressive showing at a Sunday camp.
In this story:

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel is right up there with USC head coach Lincoln Riley regarding college football's best quarterback minds. Heupel knows how to coach and recruit for the position, evidenced by his time on Rocky Top. The Vols get in these national recruitments early, especially with quarterbacks. Tennessee had offered four 2026 quarterbacks before Sunday, but after a recent camp showing, the coaching staff needed to offer another.

2026 quarterback Jared Curtis already holds 23 offers after one season at Nashville Christian Academy (Tenn.), highlighted by Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He was the only quarterback that left town Sunday with an offer, but it was only a matter of time before he got it. Curtis threw for 2,285 yards and accounted for 34 touchdowns in his freshman season. He stands 6-3 and 215 pounds with a live arm, downfield touch, and movement skills.

Tennessee has taken a quarterback in both of Heupel's first two full recruiting classes. They plan to take another in 2025 and likely continue that trend. Julian Lewis is the odds-on favorite to be the No. 1 player in the 2026 class, and Tennessee has offered. However, that feels like a Georgia, Texas, or USC recruitment, one where the Vols have little hope. That said, Curtis is an excellent option that Tennessee likely would feel comfortable with. There's a ton of time before we even begin thinking about the 2026 class, but Curtis is a name to know.
