It’s not every day that you see a commit from another school visit your university. During the UConn game, Tennessee had a Georgia Tech commit come through on a visit to watch Tennessee take the field in a blowout win.

Trashun Griffin is a Georgia Tech commit who is from Bibb County High School in Centreville, Alabama. He plays DE and DL and is a 2024 prospect. He measures in at 6'5 and 255 pounds. He took the visit to Tennessee and had a lot of good things to talk about with Volunteer Country.

“I most definitely enjoyed the atmosphere there and the way they played and treated the recruits,” he started off by saying. He also followed that up by saying, “One thing that caught my eye the most was how the team played hard and had fun on defense. That’s how you are supposed to dominate and have fun, and that’s something that I want to be a part of,” the Georgia Tech commit states.

With him being committed to another school, he was asked what made Tennessee unique, and he responded, “I mean, one thing is, Tennessee coaches came to me, and we had time to talk about things, and that’s something you don’t get with other schools very often.” “I talk to coach Rob Ayers, coach Rodney Gardner, and the head coach; they told me they liked me and I wouldn’t be here if they didn’t like me, and they also wanted to make sure my measurements matched up. They are going to try to get me back up to Rocky Top when they play Georgia.”

He then talks about the Tennessee system and how he believes he could fit in, and he states, “I think I can fit in their program by coming off the edge and dominating. I mean, by me watching them play, they get after it and have that dawg mentality, and that’s what I can bring the mentality and effort to.” The talented defensive prospect was asked if Tennessee plays a factor moving forward in his recruitment, and he said, "Yes, they do, but if they take too long to offer, they won’t anymore.”

In conclusion, it seems as if Tennessee has impacted this recruitment. It will be interesting to see how the Vols can play a part in this talented prospect's recruiting as time passes.
