WATCH: Braylon Staley Talks Vols After High School Win
Volunteer Country recently got to take a road trip to South Carolina to see four-star wide receiver and current Tennessee Volunteer commit Braylon Staley. Braylon had an excellent performance and then took the time to speak about his commitment and recruitment.
The speedy wideout has been committed to Tennessee since June 30th. There are many reasons the young wide receiver committed: "coaches, culture, fanbase, man, it just felt like a family to me, and that just helped me through that recruiting process," states Staley. The South Carolina senior took official visits to schools such as Clemson, North Carolina, and Miami before committing to coach Heupel and his staff. He also visited Knoxville for a gameday visit when the Vols took on the Aggies. Staley confidently stated, "I'm just going to have a good time," when asked if he had any expectations when previewing his visit.
Being a wide receiver, there are plenty of benefits to being on the Tennessee offense. "Man, just having that fast tempo, having the defense on their heels, quick routes, deep balls, just bombing them, man. That offense is amazing," stated the Volunteer commit. Braylon is also very lethal on quick-game routes. Tennessee has shown time and time again that they are not afraid to throw a quick pass and give the playmaker a chance to break loose. When Staley was asked if he wanted to be involved in the quick game at the next level for a team like Tennessee, he responded, "I mean, that is some stuff I want to do, you know. There is still some stuff I want to do; just go deep, but the quick game, I mean, if it's there, it's there; you know, I'm just going to take it to the crib."
Braylon Staley is currently one of two wide receiver commits for the Vols in the class of 2024. It is safe to say Vols fans should be excited about this young playmaker from South Carolina!
