The Tennessee Lady Volunteers took on the Alabama Crimson Tide in women's basketball on Friday after defeating the Kentucky Wildcats in the SEC tournament. This game occurred as part of the quarterfinals, in which the Crimson Tide were favored to win, considering they had defeated Tennessee earlier in the year. Today, the result was far different from before. Tennessee didn't just win the game… they dominated it. The Lady Vols won the game by a score of 83-61 as they upset the fourth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

Two women really stood out in the game today as they were Tennessee's headline players. The first one was Jewel Spear. She was perfect from behind the line, shooting 6-for-6 from the three-point line and scoring 24 points. She also had two rebounds on the day. Last Vols star forward Rickea Jackson was the other woman to have a great day in today's game. She flirted with a double-double. She had a 22-point, nine-rebound night with three assists as she shot 9-14.

The Tennessee Lady Volunteers are set to take on the toughest team in the nation. The South Carolina Lady Gamecocks. The two teams have faced off twice thus far. Tennessee lost both matchups by a score of 76-68 and 66-55. In both matchups, the Lady Vols hung around with the undefeated Gamecocks.
