It has been a tale of two drastically different seasons for the Texas Longhorns (23-10, 6-3), as they have completely turned things around from where they started.

After starting 0-3 and then dropping to 4-7 following a road series loss to Cal State Fullerton the season appeared to be all but dead in the water. However, that was far from the case with this Texas team.

A 14-game home stand saw the Longhorns go a perfect 14-0 and finally break into the D1Baseball top 25. Now, after not moving at all in the poll last week, the Longhorns moved up once again and broke into the top 20.

Texas went 3-1 last week, with a 7-1 midweek win over Air Force snapping a small two-game losing streak from its Oklahoma State series. The Longhorns then went on to take two out of three against Kansas State, clinching the series win and taking sole possession of first place in the Big 12.

Now the Longhorns find themselves heading into a home and home with Texas State on Monday and Tuesday, marking their fifth game in five days. After that, they will head to Waco for a three-game weekend conference series against Baylor.

With the season officially in the back half, if the Longhorns can simply keep winning than they'll climb up these rankings on a weekly basis - and continue to make a case to be a regional host.
