Longhorns Look to Keep Bats Rolling Against Incarnate Word
There's playing better at home, and then there's how dominant the Texas Longhorns have been on their current home stand. The Longhorns are 10 games into a 14-game home stand and have won all 10 so far to reel off a 10-game win streak.
While the competition has not been as stiff as they will face in conference play, when you can stack up wins as much as Texas has then it is worth paying attention to - especially after their disappointing 4-7 start to the season.
The offense has roared to life the last 10 games, scoring less than seven runs only once in that stretch, while the pitching staff has continued to shut down opposing lineups.
Now, though, they must turn their attention to one last game before the start of conference play this weekend. Next up for the Longhorns is a midweek matchup against the University of Incarnate Word Cardinals.

A look at Incarnate Word's season so far
The Cardinals come into their Tuesday night matchup with the Longhorns riding a three-game losing streak after a sweep at the hands of Tarleton State. Prior to that, though, the Cardinals won four straight games and have found themselves trading wins and losses so far this season.
Incarnate Word by the numbers

Incarnate Word wins this game if...
They can get shut down the Texas offense long enough to get the starter out of the game. While the bullpen has been outstanding for Texas so far, the Longhorns start conference play on Friday and may not want to burn too many arms. If that is the case, the Cardinals could pull off the upset if they can do just enough to get past a strong Texas pitching staff.
Texas wins this game if...
The offense continues to click on all cylinders like it has throughout the home stand so far. Incarnate Word hasn't had any trouble putting up runs, but the pitching has been shaky at times. If the Longhorns can take advantage of that and jump on the Cardinal pitching staff early then they'll have a good chance to run their winning streak to 11 games.
