Whenever the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies play, regardless of the sport or circumstances, both teams want to win. After all, who wouldn't want bragging rights over one of their most hated rivals?

This was the case again on Tuesday night when the Longhorns made the trip to College Station for a midweek matchup with the Aggies.

A win for the Longhorns would be their 15th straight, and break a four-game losing streak to the Aggies, while a win for the Aggies would snap Texas' 14-game winning streak and their own three-game losing streak.

While it was far from easy for the Longhorns, they were able to leave College Station with their 15th straight win and finally put an end to their four-game losing streak against the Aggies.

The tone was set for the game in the first inning when Porter Brown ripped a two out, two-run double into the left field gap to give the Longhorns the early 2-0 lead. An RBI single for the Aggies cut the lead to 2-1, where it would stay until the third inning.

Texas pushed the lead back to two at 3-1 in the third on a Dylan Campbell RBI single, but squandered a chance to break the game wide open after loading the bases with no outs - a recurring theme for the Longhorns as they left 15 on base in the win.

As for the pitching, starter Lebarron Johnson gave the Longhorns three innings of one-run baseball to pick up his third win of the season and was followed by an impressive bullpen showing.

Perhaps no performance out of the bullpen was more impressive, though, than starter turned closer Zane Morehouse. After the Longhorns added two insurance runs in the eighth to make it 5-2, Morehouse trotted to the mound in the home half to get to work - and get to work he did.

It wasn't stress free for the Longhorns closer, as he allowed a pair of baserunners in both the eighth and ninth. However, in both innings he slammed the door shut with a strikeout to secure the 5-2 win, the 15th straight for Texas.

What's next for Texas?

The Longhorns mini four-game road trip continues this weekend, as they head to Stillwater to kick off a three-game conference series with the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Friday at 6 p.m. CT.
