Longhorns Bullpen Implodes in 10-9 Walkoff Baylor Loss: Live Game Log
The Texas Longhorns (25-11, 7-3) are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they look to clinch another conference series win, this one against the Baylor Bears (12-22, 4-9).
It was far from a drama free win for the Longhorns in the series opener, however they appeared to be cruising to an easy win. Lucas Gordon was dominant on the mound once again, tossing six shutout innings to lower his conference best ERA down to a sparkling 1.92.
Offensively, the Longhorns took a 6-0 lead into the eighth and would put up five runs in the ninth to make it 11-3. What should've been an easy win became too close for comfort as the bullpen gave up six runs in the ninth in what became an 11-9 series opener win.
Now, the Longhorns look to put together another strong showing offensively with a better bullpen performance to clinch the series win over the Bears.
