Longhorns Fall to Sooners 9-6, Drop Series: Live Game Log
The Texas Longhorns (27-13, 8-5) are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they look to even the series against the Oklahoma Sooners (20-19, 5-8) in the first half of a doubleheader.
What was initially supposed to be game two on Saturday and game three on Sunday has become a doubleheader, as the Longhorns and Sooners look to avoid weather issues on Sunday.
It was a low-scoring, dramatic affair in the series opener as neither offense managed to string together multiple runs. Instead, the Sooners took the 2-1 lead in the top of the eight on a bases loaded walk, a lead that they would hold for good to take the series opener.
Texas got the tying run on in both the eighth and ninth on leadoff singles but stranded the runner in scoring position to end both innings and go 0-for-8 on the night with runners in scoring position.
Now the Longhorns look to wake up the bats in game two and even the series before the finale later this afternoon.
