The Texas Longhorns (27-12, 8-4) are back in action once again on Friday night as they welcome the Oklahoma Sooners (19-19, 4-8) to town for what will be a crucial three-game conference series.

Other than being a chance to claim bragging rights over one of the biggest rivals, this series has major postseason implications for both teams. For the Longhorns, a series win or sweep strengthens their hold on the Big 12 while boosting their chances at hosting not only a regional but a super regional, too, come June.

On the other hand, the Sooners come into this series in serious danger of missing the Big 12 tournament and postseason play altogether. A series win for them, though, gets them back in contention for postseason play.

Texas is coming off a 20-0 run rule drubbing over the ACU Wildcats, improving its record at home to 21-4. The Sooners, though, have lost a 19-8 blowout loss to Oklahoma State.

Stay tuned as we provide live updates as the Longhorns take on the Sooners from Disch-Falk Field.

Live updates will be available after first pitch.
