In the span of just 24 hours the outlook for the 2024 season took a drastic turn for the Texas Longhorns. A turn for the better, of course, with three key members from this season announcing their intent to return.

First, they gained a major boost to their starting rotation after Tanner Witt announced he was returning on Wednesday and then followed by Lebarron Johnson Jr. doing the same on Thursday

Following Johnson's lead on Thursday was another big name for the Longhorns, as left fielder Porter Brown declared on Twitter his intention to run it back in 2024 as well.

Brown, of course, was a transfer portal addition last season landed by David Pierce from the TCU Horned Frogs. After joining the Longhorns, he quickly became one of the most important bats in a potent lineup.

He put together a .323/.426/.545 slash line, launching 12 home runs and finishing second on the team with 59 RBI. Not just a power bat, though, he provided elite defense in left field - flashing the leather on highlight-reel catches and hosing runners with a cannon for an arm.

The Longhorns have a lot to be excited about heading into the 2024 season, with a mix of new players and returning talent across the roster. Now, with Porter coming back as well, they have the potential to field one of the best offenses in the Big 12.
