Longhorns Clinch Series Over TCU in 3-2 Thriller: Live Game Log
The Texas Longhorns (29-15, 9-7) are back in action once again on Sunday afternoon as they look for their third straight win and a much needed series win over the TCU Horned Frogs (23-19, 7-9).
It was a strong showing for the Longhorns in the series opener against the Horned Frogs both on the mound and at the plate as they handled business in an 8-4 win on Saturday.
Longhorns ace Lucas Gordon was once again his usual dominant self as he had few hiccups against TCU. Gordon tossed a career-high eight innings, holding the Horned Frogs to just four runs on six hits while striking out five. He was followed by Heston Tole in the ninth who recorded a quick 1-2-3 inning.
Offensively for Texas the balls were flying as four different Longhorns launched a solo home run, including Eric Kennedy who went deep twice from the seventh spot in the lineup.
In a series with major postseason implications involved taking the series opener was a big win for the Longhorns, as they now look to clinch a crucial series win.
