Longhorns Travel for Crucial Conference Series With TCU
We are entering the final home stretch of the college baseball regular season with the Texas Longhorns only having 13 games left, nine of which are conference games, left in the regular season.
The Longhorns enter the home stretch at 28-15 and 8-7 in Big 12 play, and desperately needing to get back in the win column against a conference opponent. They will look to do so in a road series against another Big 12 team looking for a series win in the TCU Horned Frogs.
Both the Longhorns and the Horned Frogs enter the series fresh off a sweep in conference play, with TCU having suffered its sweep at the hands of the West Virginia Mountaineers.
With the regular season fast approaching its end, and both teams hoping to get back in the picture for both a conference championship, this series will have huge postseason implications.

A look at TCU's season so far
It has been quite the up and down season for the Horned Frogs as they enter the three-game series against Texas having lost three out of their five conference series so far. You never know quite which TCU team you will face, which could make things interesting against the Longhorns.
TCU by the numbers

TCU wins this series if...
The offense can take advantage of a Longhorns pitching staff that has looked extremely shaky in recent weeks. While they still have the best team ERA in the conference, the Longhorns have struggled on the mound outside of Lucas Gordon. If TCU can take advantage of that and get into the Texas bullpen, it could leave the weekend with a crucial series win.
Texas wins this series if...
The pitching staff that started the season can show up instead of the one that showed up against Baylor and Oklahoma. Yes, the Longhorns took the series from Baylor but it was a series they should have swept if not for ninth inning struggles. You know what to expect from Lucas Gordon but if the two starters behind him can give Texas solid innings, it could be a much needed bounce back weekend for the Longhorns.
