On3's JD PicKell's Foresees Rematch for Texas and Oklahoma in Big 12 Title Game

The Longhorns lost their first game of the season to Oklahoma this past week.
In this story:

While Texas has turned their attention to its Week 7 matchup against Houston, it is their Week 6 matchup that has been more frequently discussed.

The Longhorns who ranked No. 3 at the time ended up dropping their first game of the season against No. 12 Oklahoma, which has put a wrench in their perfect season aspirations. However, while the loss stings and hurts them in the rankings, everything Texas wants to accomplish is still possible. They can still win the Big 12 title and still have a path to the playoff if they win out.

However, in order to accomplish these feats, they will likely need to avenge their loss to the Sooners. Something that On3's JD PicKell recently predicted will happen.

“I think that it’s very, very difficult to beat a team twice. So if this happens, if we get this matchup, we’ll pick it again when it gets here and we reserve the right to change our prediction based on what happens these next six weeks, but like at the end of the day, I just think it’s so tough to beat any team twice. I think it’s especially difficult to beat a really talented team twice and a really well-coached team twice,” PicKell said.

The Longhorns certainly came out flat against Oklahoma, and while they did have chances to win the game they were simply unable to overcome their own mistakes. It also didn't help that the defense really had no answer for Dillon Gabriel.

However, the loss cannot determine their season. If Texas wants any chance at getting revenge, they need to focus on the remaining games on the schedule.
