Steve Sarkisian May Be Recruiting Lane Kiffin's Son Away From Ole Miss

Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian and Ole Miss Rebels coach Lane Kiffin go way back to their time at USC.

On Friday night many of the nation's college football coaches found themselves in Bellflower, California on Friday to take in one of the biggest high school games of the year.

In a game between Southern California powerhouse programs, No. 1 Mater Dei and No. 7 St. John Bosco, there were reportedly 76 total players that held one or more FBS offers. The two programs are known for pumping out stars each and every season, and dating back to 2017 one of the two programs has won the national title in all but one season.

On hand for the game was Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian, whose son Brady at one point attended Mater Dei. He and the Longhorns also hold a commitment from five-star Mater Dei tackle Brandon Baker, and are also looking to flip fellow Monarch tackle DeAndre Carter. However, Sarkisian may already be getting into the mix of the recruitment of quarterback Knox Kiffin. If the name sounds somewhat familiar, it is because the 2028 quarterback is the middle-school-aged son of Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin.

While he stands in at around 5-foot-7, knowing how well his father develops quarterbacks, there's a real chance that once he gets into high school and hits a growth spurt he may be a top target. Knox and Sarkisian were spotted taking a photo in Texas sweaters at the game.

While the game itself ended up being a thrashing by St. John Bosco, it was still important for recruits to see Sarkisian out there watching in person which may bode well for a flip or two.

As for Kiffin's young son, he does appear to have an interest in Texas as back in February Lane took to the app formerly known as Twitter to announce what his son told him was his top list of schools.

The list included programs such as Oregon, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas.
