WATCH: Longhorns Drop Epic Gameday Trailer vs. Alabama
AUSTIN, Texas -- If you got chills watching the gameday trailer that the No. 11 Texas Longhorns released prior to their season opener against the Rice Owls, then you're due for more goosebumps after Texas revealed its hype-filled preview for Saturday's clash with the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The Longhorns have been riding with the theme of "embrace the hate" to begin the season, and are doing it again in this latest trailer. With some help from legendary pro wrestler The Undertaker, the motivational message gets delivered with ease.
"It's hard to ignore the talk, but talk is cheap," The Undertaker says to open the video.
Take a look:
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian hasn't exactly shied away from the "embrace the hate" approach, but he's made it clear that he expects the team to focus on themselves rather than getting caught up in the endless outside noise that has surrounded the team leading up to Saturday's game.
“Our whole message this week was be present," Sarkisian said. "Be present today. Let’s focus on today, and Saturday will be here soon enough. Let’s focus on today, and that allowed me to really look at each day through a straw and just focus on that day. That gave me a good gauge of where we were at.”
The Longhorns will look for some slight revenge over the Tide after last year's 20-19 loss to Alabama in Austin. With the Tide being the standard of college football, a win for the Longhorns in Tuscaloosa could vault them into an area of elite expectations for the remainder of the season.
Kickoff on Saturday is set for 6 p.m. CT.
