The Texas Longhorns have a pedigree for developing running backs and they could land a commitment from another in the class of 2024.
Though it is still in the running for the top-two tailbacks in the class of 2024 in Taylor Tatum and Jerrick Gibson, Texas continues its roll in the cycle, as the Longhorns were in four-star running back Christian Clark's top five schools. Along with Texas, Clark has Florida State, Oregon, Georgia, and Alabama in contention.
“I think (running backs) coach [Tashard] Choice can develop me into the best possible running back I can be and the best person I can be," Clark told On3. "I also love how he used Bijan in his offense because I think I have a similar play style to him.”
The No. 6 player in Arizona, according to 247Sports, ran for 737 yards and 11 touchdowns, providing a solid pass-catching option with 37 catches going for 368 yards and five scores.
Clark was offered Jan. 27 and will take an official visit to Austin June 16.
In his first full recruiting cycle, Choice landed the top back in the class of 2023 in Orlando, FL. native CJ Baxter.
If Clark joins in the 2024 cycle, the Longhorns , something that was seen with Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson who were selected in the first and fourth round, respectively, in the 2023 NFL Draft.
