Longhorns Land in Kirk Herbstreit's Top Four
ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit released his top-four rankings in college football following the conclusion of Week 4, and the Texas Longhorns have made the cut.
First on Herbstreit's list are the Washington Huskies, the "most dominant team," Herbstreit said on Twitter. The Huskies have always piqued Herbstreit's interest, but Saturday's win over Cal solidified his dominant prediction of Washington.
Ranked at No. 2, Herbstreit has placed Georgia next on his list, the "most talented team," Herbstreit wrote.
Following two huge wins against LSU and Clemson away from their home crowd and fans, Herbstreit placed Florida State at the No. 3 ranking.
As far as Texas' No. 4 ranking goes, Herbstreit is not looking towards the Longhorns' most recent blowout victory over the Baylor Bears, he is still caught up on the Alabama Crimson Tide upset in Week 2, putting an end to Alabama's 21-home game winning streak.
"Big win in T-Town and trending up," Herbstreit wrote about the Texas Longhorns on Twitter.
The two teams that nearly missed the mark on his top-four list are Michigan and Ohio State, coming in at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. According to Herbstreit, the Wolverines "haven't lived up to their standard offensively yet."
And, regardless of their win over Notre Dame this past weekend on Saturday, Herbstreit said that the Buckeyes still have their "best football ahead of them."
In the AP Polls, the Buckeyes are currently ranked at the No. 4 slot and seem to have the consistent talent to keep them high in the predictions, but they have yet to convince Herbstreit.
Herbstreit's rankings:
- Washington Huskies
- Georgia Bulldogs
- Florida State Seminoles
- Texas Longhorns
- Michigan Wolverines
- Ohio State Buckeyes
