Longhorns Ex Marquise Goodwin Signs with Browns

Seattle Seahawks free agent receiver and former Texas Longhorns speedster Marquise Goodwin is now set to play for his fourth team in four years, as the veteran is signing a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns, per reports Friday from ESPN.
The exact details of the deal are not yet known, but the Browns are seemingly getting a value signing by adding Goodwin, who had one of the better campaigns of his career this past season.
Goodwin signed a one-year, $1.27 million deal with Seattle on May 23 after playing 14 games with the Chicago Bears during the 2021 season. But despite joining a Seahawks team that seemed to be entering a rebuild, Goodwin emerged as the No. 3 receiver during a resurgent year for quarterback Geno Smith.
He finished the season with just 27 catches for 387 yards in 13 games, but tied a single-season career-best mark of four receiving touchdowns. The 387 receiving yards also marked his most in a season since 2018.
Goodwin's best game of the season - and arguably one of the better games of his career - came in a 37-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7, as he finished with four catches for 67 yards and two touchdowns. The win helped signal to the rest of the league that the Seahawks were no slouch, as they were first in the NFC West division after seven weeks.
But Goodwin will now look to provide a similar spark to the Browns and quarterback Deshaun Watson, who are coming off a disappointing 7-10 season.
